@steppenwolf95 actually the original M16 was A1, you’re probably thinking of the Stoner which is a prototype weapon that the M16 was styled after. The M16 was quickly switched from an experimental model to a service weapon that would one day become irreplacable to the US military

i bought mine last summer at gander mountain for about 200 buck.
the battery broke in the first week or so, thankfully i bought the warrenty, and got all of my money back. this gun is great when it works, but the clip doesnt allways load the pellets into the gun, so u end up firing it upside down to get the pellets into the gun. save yourself the money and time, dont buy this gun unless you really understand this stuff, its impossible to find a replacement batery

I have had this gun for a month and when i tried to take the hop up off the barrel it wouldnt come off, it looked like it was glued on. Does anyone know how i can get my hop up off?

It’s a hybrid, it has features of both the m16a1 and the a2

so the mag sling mounts and bolt are metal and everythin else is plastic? CHEAP!!!! all of the non essential parts are metal and the ones that need to be durable are plastic
The original M16 and the M16-A1 are born during the ‘nam era.
The A1 has a “bolt assist” system on the right side that was not on the original M16.
The M16-A2 came in 1982. You can notice a bump behind the ejection windows to send cartridges forwards. It also can shoot 3 bullets burst.
The M16-A3 is a A2 version which can shoot full burst.
The M16-A4 is an A2 with a removable carrying handle.

It is an inaccurate replica. Just because it has an A2 sight doesn’t make it an A2. It is an inaccurate M16a1 replica
Look at the rear iron sight,
see it?
that is an M16A2 sight,
therefore this is an airsoft replica of an M16A2 with triangular a forgrip wrongly advertised as an M16A1
